Description

Flexsys, a leading manufacturer of tire additive products, has an immediate opening for a Control Systems Engineer at its Sauget, IL location. This position is responsible for the development design and management design of internal control systems. This position will work closely with the Production Units. The Control Systems Engineer will not have direct supervisory responsibility. This position reports to the ACL Area Manager.

Responsibilities:

· Engineering drawing development, review and approval

· DCS, PLC, and HMI programming

· Development and design of the control system strategy and architecture

· Configuration and management of industrial communication equipment

· Cost estimate and schedule development for projects

· Purchasing and acceptance testing of hardware and software

· System integration with existing equipment

· System simulation, start up, and check-out

operational support and troubleshooting

· Lifecycle management activities from conception to dismantlement

· SIS and SIL rated safety equipment

Candidate may become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the following areas:
• DCS/PLC/HMI programming in a variety of formats and platforms
• Control system networking
• Industrial instrumentation devices
• Project Technical Leader on industrial automation

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or technical field with equivalent job experience in process control management

· Minimum 10 years of experience in an engineering role

· Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

· Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings

· Must be a self-starter and able to manage multiple tasks at a time

· Strong planning, organization, facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills

· Analytical skills and a desire to provide “attention to detail”

Preferred Qualifications:

· Knowledge of SAP

· Experience working with control system design, commissioning and maintenance

· Project leadership skills

· Experience with DCS equipment 

· Experience with PLC equipment 

· Experience with industrial control system networking equipment
